Tamara Stambaugh, F.N.P.

Tamara Stambaugh's real life experience and solid belief in preventative medicine are what inspired her to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (F.N.P.). Thorough, genuine and devoted to children and their families, Tamara is passionate about pediatric care. Naturally drawn to her soft-spoken voice and gentle smile, children find her easy to trust.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Tamara earned her graduate nursing degree from Oregon Health and Science University, graduating with honors. While at OHSU, she was honored with the esteemed Carol A. Lindeman Award for her demonstrated excellence in nursing, innovative leadership and vision for health care.

As part of her undergraduate work at Linfield College, she spent her sophomore year in Costa Rica, where she was inspired to study medicine.

She joined the pediatric field in 1998, while working with Dr. Velarde at Eugene Pediatric Associates. While finishing her graduate studies, she stayed connected with families from Eugene Pediatric Associates through its weekend call center.

Also bilingual in Spanish, Tamara is able to bridge the language divide that sometimes exists between medical care providers and their patients.

Mother/Biker/Book-lover

Tamara's heart and soul are most defined by her two children - teenagers Jessica and Roman. Their border collie, Jack, does his best to herd family members when they're around and is happiest when everyone is together. A fair-weather road biker, Tamara also loves to garden and snuggle up by the fire with a good book.

Raising children from birth to college has enhanced her ability to understand and empathize with parents' issues at any stage. Be it new-parent exhaustion or the most challenging hurdle of all - figuring out how to gracefully let go when your child turns 18 and heads off into the world.

Fun Facts

Having lived in Japan for three years, Tamara acquired frequent and untimely cravings for sushi, so she finally learned how to make it for friends and family! From soul to hip hop to merengue, she loves to dance (especially when she’s out of the country and there are no witnesses). Her ideal play day would be cross-country skiing followed by a seat in front of the fire, watching the snow fall outside. Her favorite season is fall. And her dream vacation would be three months of trekking across New Zealand with no agenda, a masseuse and chef!
