Dr. Robert Velarde retiresAfter more than 30 years, Dr. Robert Velarde has announced his retirement from the practice of pediatric medicine at the end of December. I wish Dr. Velarde all the best for a happy and healthy new chapter, enjoying life with his family. His has been one of the most storied careers in pediatrics in the history of this city, and it has been an honor to work alongside him these past four years at Eugene Pediatrics Associates.

Both Dr. Velarde and I want to reassure his patient families that Eugene Pediatric Associates remains dedicated, ready and excited to take care of your children. From the moment they are born through young adulthood, we are there for you every step of the way, in our clinic and at the hospitals.

To ensure that your child has everything they need from your medical home, we have taken the following steps:

  • All of us have open schedules. Drs. Romanoski, Chase and Bradshaw are all equally excited to become your child’s new primary pediatrician.
  • We are in final negotiations with two excellent male pediatricians. I hope to have them both here next summer, ready to see patients. Should your kids want to switch to one of these doctors, we will happily assist you in making that transition.
  • We have a formal agreement with Dr. David Miller. As of January 1, established Eugene pediatrician Dr. David Miller will help see our boys who need a male provider. Simply call, and we can schedule you with Dr. Miller, upon request.

Please call if you have questions or would like help choosing your child’s next pediatrician. We at Eugene Pediatric Associates are proud to carry on the long tradition of caring for kids started so long ago by Dr. Bob.

Sincerely,
Dr. B
