Emily Dalton, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Experienced and tuned in, Dr. Emily Dalton believes in a holistic, all-encompassing approach to caring for her patients, from birth through adolescence. Recognizing that wellness is a family affair, she actively listens to kids and parents, offering helpful advice, addressing their concerns and celebrating their milestones. She aims to make each visit efficient, comprehensive and comfortable.

Doctor

Dr. Dalton is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She earned her undergraduate degree at Antioch University in Ohio, where she double majored in biology and music. She received her medical degree with an emphasis in medical ethics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. After completing her internship at the University of California San Diego Medical Center, she served her residency at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Volunteer & Teacher

Fluent in Spanish and a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association, Emily has participated in two medical mission trips to Honduras, providing care to underserved, poverty-stricken families. She enjoys teaching and often serves as a mentor to medical students, sharing her knowledge and experience, while helping to strengthen the next generation of doctors.

Outdoors Enthusiast

Emily finds relaxation and rejuvenation by spending time outdoors. In addition to swimming, she scuba dives and enjoys capturing the beauty of sea life through underwater photography. An animal lover, she participates in dog agility competitions, where she trains her three boxers to run through obstacle courses.

Writer

Well-versed on medical issues facing families and doctors, Emily has written articles for several publications, including a long-running editorial column for the Humboldt-Del Norte Medical Society's North Coast Physician. Writing fulfills Emily's desire to create something unique and informative that she can share with others.

Mother

Married and mother and stepmother to four children, Emily has learned through her own experiences that parenting a child provides invaluable insight as a pediatrician. Experiencing her own ups and downs as a mother allows her to bring empathy, compassion, understanding and humility to the exam room to better support her patients and their families.

Fun Facts

The daughter of college English professors, Emily was named after American poet Emily Dickinson. She grew up between the Midwest and South Dakota and lived on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation for three years during high school, where she enjoyed horseback riding and dabbled in barrel racing. In college, she spent a year in Italy studying Italian and music.
