LoRanèe Braun, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Empathetic and compassionate, Dr. LoRanée Braun believes every child deserves to live a safe, healthy life and reach their full potential. Dr. Braun served in the United States Army for 27 years. As an Army pediatrician, she cared for thousands of children whose families were separated by combat operations. She has dedicated her life to caring for children and supporting their parents and strongly believes in the power of love.

Doctor

Dr. Braun is board-certified in general pediatrics, pediatric infectious diseases and is certified by the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She graduated with honors and as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1997, which was founded by Congressman F. Edwards Hébert to be a West Point for doctors. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She finished her pediatric and pediatric infectious disease training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Leader and Teacher

LoRanée has dedicated much of her career to training doctors to be pediatricians. She has graduated 50 board-certified pediatricians, and her research in simulation training and infectious diseases has been recognized internationally. She played a pivotal role in the creation of the first Department of Defense Center for Autism, Research and Education Services.

Mother

As a mother of three boys, LoRanée understands the challenges of parenting and enjoys sharing her experience, while helping moms and dads understand their child. She sees every child as an individual with unique traits and talents that should be identified and developed.

Exercise Enthusiast

LoRanée is a proud finisher of the Marine Corps Marathon. She actively participates in sports with her three sons, including basketball, lacrosse, soccer and running. Her black and yellow labs, Montana and Marley, wait patiently for her to return home for their evening run–rain or shine.

Fun Facts

LoRanée was stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, for three years, where she and her family traveled throughout Europe. She has parachuted from airplanes and repelled from helicopters. While working in a hospital in Tanzania, Africa, she woke up poolside surrounded by twelve elephants and realized she was sleeping next to a watering hole.
