Approachable, supportive and experienced, Dr. Jennifer Olson is a board-certified child psychiatrist who works closely with providers at Eugene Pediatric Associates to assist children and families with a variety of mental health issues, such as ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and developmental disorders, including autism. A good listener and communicator, Jennifer believes in helping families identify their strengths to better overcome their challenges.
Jennifer graduated cum laude from Oregon State University Honors College, where she received a bachelor’s degree in zoology, with minors in chemistry and anthropology. She earned her Medical Doctorate from the University of Minnesota Medical School and served as chief psychiatric resident at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, where she went on to complete her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
Raising her two sons has given her greater perspective and understanding of the joys and trials of parenting, allowing her to better connect with her patients. Recognizing that every child is different helps her meet families where they are and provide support in ways that work best for them.
With a heart for philanthropy, Jennifer is an active community volunteer. She’s a member of the Rotary Club of Eugene and has served in leadership positions in 4-H, Boy Scouts and at her children’s schools. She often volunteers with her children to instill in them the value of helping others.
Jennifer takes time to explore Oregon’s outdoors whenever possible, enjoying ski trips in winter and camping in summer. She is an avid runner who combines her devotion to all things Disney by participating in half-marathons at Disneyland and Disney World.
She enjoys cooking and all varieties of crafting, including screen printing, knitting, cross stitching and quilting. Born and raised in Eugene, Jennifer grew up on a sheep farm and has always loved animals. She is a big fan of Broadway musicals and likes to travel and attend musical productions with her two sons.
